Next to the property sits the historical 16th-century Ali’i (Royal) Fish Pond of Kalepolepo or Koʻieʻie Loko Iʻa.   Originally constructed with walls of coral and lava rock to provide Hawaiian royalty with fresh fish, the pond now provides a protected swimming area for children and those wishing to avoid heavy surf.  Menehune Shores is also the perfect spot for shore-based whale watching and close by are two great places to learn about protecting our amazing humpback whales.

Whether you’re an adventurer, a foodie, or someone looking to relax, you’ll find plenty more to do and see in this beautiful part of South Maui.

For marine enthusiasts, the clear waters surrounding Maui are perfect for snorkeling and diving. The nearby Molokini Crater, a crescent-shaped, partially submerged volcanic crater, offers some of the best visibility for underwater exploration in Hawaii. Here, you can swim alongside a vibrant array of marine life, from colorful fish to sea turtles. If you’re more inclined to stay above water, consider joining a boat tour for sunset pupus or whale watching in season, where you can enjoy the ocean breeze and perhaps even spot some dolphins.
