Maui County Farm Bureau along with the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural allies present the annual Maui County Agricultural Festival & 4H Livestock Fair to share agriculture’s vital role in the economy, environment, and lifestyle of Maui. Held at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku, this is Maui’s prime event to raise awareness about local agriculture on Maui.
Experience local fresh flavors and have fun at the festival hosted by the Maui County Farm Bureau, in partnership with the Office of Economic Development and supported by generous sponsors. This festival offers a comprehensive experience that highlights the significant impact of agriculture on daily life.
2) EAST MAUI TARO FESTIVAL
Held annually each spring in Hāna, Maui, the East Maui Taro Festival focuses on kalo (taro), Hawai’i’s traditional staple food, and celebrates the restoration of Hawaiian culture. The all-day event features performances by local musicians, hula halau, and 20 food booths, each offering a unique kalo dish.

3) MAUI FILM FESTIVAL
The Maui Film Festival, a multi-day event, offers an unforgettable experience with incredible films shown under the stars in Wailea and indoors at Maui’s Arts and Cultural Center. True to its intent, the Maui Film Festival distinguishes itself as unlike any other in the world.
While festivals like Cannes, Sundance, and Berlin are known for their extravagance, the Maui Film Festival delivers the purity of the art in a casual setting. This festival combines understated elegance with the unique Aloha charisma of Maui, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
4) MAUI OBON FESTIVAL
This centuries-old Buddhist tradition is revitalized every summer here on the islands. June marks the beginning of Maui’s obon season, when typically quiet Buddhist temples come alive with revelers. At its heart, obon is a time to honor the deceased with grave cleanings and prayers, yet it is far from a somber occasion. The festival bursts with color, featuring vibrant kimonos, bright lanterns, and the resonant sounds of taiko drums, all meant to awaken and welcome ancestors back to this world.

5) HAWAII FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL
Every year at the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival, master chefs—not just any chefs, but many who are James Beard award-winners and/or operators of Michelin Star restaurants—from Hawaii and across the country are invited to create unforgettable dishes and share their passion for food and admiration for Hawaii with guests.
